Saturday, the 28th A Steamy Night at Casino Bern

The air was hot and steamy in the heart of Bern as Amuse Bouche returned for its second gig in the city. Just a short hop from the Maison, we found ourselves at the beautiful and historic Casino Bern—a refurbished venue with high ceilings, elegant rooms, and a touch of nostalgia.

For Niceyboy, the night held special meaning. Back when he was 18 or 19, he and a friend would often visit the Casino. Stepping behind the decks there for the first time felt like a full-circle moment—something truly memorable.

Of course, no gig goes entirely without hiccups. While we did have a soundcheck, the sound system left much to be desired. The speaker quality didn’t quite match the room’s grandeur, leading to some fair criticism from a few guests. A lesson noted.

The crowd was diverse, mostly between 40 to 60 years old, with a few younger faces in their 20s. At Glu Glu, the music vibe leans more toward the familiar: commercial hits and singalong classics. But that night, we switched things up. Our set leaned into a more modern, electronic palette, melodic house, afro house, which, while exciting for some, didn’t resonate with everyone. That’s the beauty (and challenge) of music - it’s deeply personal and always subjective.

Despite the mixed reactions, we’re incredibly grateful for those who danced with us, especially the amazing group of women who stayed on the floor all night until DJ Aleno took over. Their energy was everything.

These are the moments that make us reflect, adjust, and grow. Every gig teaches us something new, and we’re taking these lessons with us as we continue our journey - shaping our sets, reading the room, and hopefully ending up in front of the right crowd each time.

Thank you, Bern.
